food: 4.5/5 could use a tad bit more salt and seasoning. This is more mexico city style flavors than oaxaca taste. service: 5/5 off the charts excellent definitely a gem of a mexican restaurant in the OC. A bit pricey but it's worth it as you can tell they care about their customers both by what they serve and how they serve. Overall this place is more like 4.5/5 but got rounded up. I'll be back =)

Came here as a party of three on a Saturday. If you are in the beach area, it is over the hills and far away. Nonetheless, parking was easy, we had a reservation, and were seated promptly. The service was attentive. The ambiance was cool, to say the least. Tequila bottles everywhere! The music was good and the vibe was a hit. I ordered the Pork and Pineapple Tacos. Absolutely demolished the plate. The rice, beans, guac, even the lime, 10/10. Although pricey, was delicious. I also ordered a Cadillac Margarita. It was *chefs kiss.* It is difficult to get Mexican food right in SoCal. I would say Calo did a fantastic job. Don't get me wrong, it's no taco man on the side of the road. I am so glad they have a location in El Segundo, I want to give it a try to see how they compare. I recommend coming here for some quality food and drink that happen to be Mexican.
